You’re invited to a FREE SEMINAR regarding the VA Aid and Attendance Improved Pension on Saturday, July 29th at 10 am at Montgomery Gardens Assisted Living, Starkville, MS.

WWII, Korean War & Vietnam Wartime Veterans, their Spouses and their caregivers, can find out if they qualify for between $13,836 & $25,524 - tax-free per year.   You will want to save the date for this worthwhile event, and bring along friends and family who also need to learn about this little-known VA Benefit.

What is the Veterans Administration Improved Pension?

This pension was established to provide financial assistance to WWII, Korea & Vietnam Wartime Veterans & their spouses to allow them to afford basic necessities. The benefit is NOT dependent upon service related injuries.  It helps cover the costs of qualified, un-reimbursed medical expenses, including assisted living facility care.  Though it has been in existence for decades, most Veterans and their families have never heard about it. And, if they have heard about it, they have not been told how to qualify.

The Basic Criteria for Qualifying:

. The Veteran must have served at least 1 day during a qualified war period, including:

  • World War II: 12/7/41 - 12/31/46 inclusive. If the veteran was in service on 12/1/46, continuous service before 7/26/47 is considered World War II service
  • Korean conflict: 6/27/50 - 1/31/55 inclusive.
  • Vietnam Era: The period beginning on 2/28/61 through 8/5/64 inclusive applies in the case of a veteran who served in the Republic of Vietnam during that period. The period beginning on 8/6/64 and ending on 5/7/75 inclusive applies in all other cases.

. The Veteran received a better than a dishonorable discharge.

. The Claimant is over the age of 65 or permanently or totally disabled.
. If the Claimant is a surviving spouse of a qualified Veteran, Claimant must not have remarried.
. The Claimant or spouse needs assistance with 2 or more of the Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
. Certain income, expense, and asset restrictions apply.
